Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
It is a great privilege to lead our youth. Wednesday nights at 6:30 I meet with Jr. High where they LOVE worship, prayer and learning about the Bible. We have evenings where I will lead worship or we let Skillet lead. We from time to time take the prayer list of the church and go around the room where everyone prays for the things on the list. Teaching the youth how to pray and that prayer is a powerful thing has been an awesome time. Its great to hear them pray and then hear the testimonies to answered prayer. Through the different studies we have been doing alot of questions have come up. These youth are digging deep. We have seen a few baptisms this last year and I have also been encouraged to know that they are coming with some thought and questions of their own. Some nights are just coming together to talk about what God is doing in their lives.
The youth are on fire and your prayers are being answered!
We were also able to join Faith Baptist for a weekend retreat call Disciple Now. The youth loved it!
Sr. High Youth has been meeting every Friday night from 6:30 - 9:30.
Dallas Blair and Marcy Pearson have started to lead worship. Which allows me to focus on a bunch of other things. Its great to have been working with Dallas and Marcy for that last few years. They both graduated High school last year and have committed to helping this year.
Sr. High Youth is a place were I like to encourage worship and challenge youth on why they believe what they believe and what the Bible truly says about living a life for Jesus. As Travis mentioned on Sunday 90% of "good christian" kids turn away. Our heart in both Sr. and Jr. youth is to help the younger generation to understand how to follow Jesus and that it encompasses more than just coming to church.
The youth have had many testimonies of them stepping out and taking risk by sharing their faith or by standing up for what is right. Feel free to stop anyone of the youth to ask them "what is God been doing in your life". I know they will have something to say.
I ask that you continue to be praying for our youth. God is moving and they are hungry.
This week I am partnering with Christian youth speaker Jason Mopin and his team as he speaks to Jr and Sr High School students from Menominee and Stephenson High Schools. He will be holding assemblies in Stephenson High School in the morning and Menominee High School in the afternoon of Feb 25th. That same evening he is sharing the gospel message at the Menominee High School. All are welcome to attend this event starting at 6pm. I am working together with Faith Baptist, Calvary Temple, New Life Church and Healthy Kid Coalition to put this on. Please keep this in your prayers as I believe we have an opportunity to see many youth come to know Jesus. Pray that we may connect with all of them.
God Bless,
Mike Casale
